About CometD
CometD is a scalable WebSocket and HTTP based event and message routing bus.
CometD makes use of WebSocket and HTTP push technologies known as Comet (the term Comet was coined by Alex Russell in his post Comet: Low Latency Data for the Browser) to provide low-latency data from the server to browsers and client applications.
CometD defines a transport-independent protocol called Bayeux, and provides libraries in Java and JavaScript that implement this protocol.
Applications can use the CometD libraries to write transport-independent applications, and CometD will take care of the transport details.
Webtide sponsors the development and provides commercial support for the CometD project. The CometD experts will be available to you and your team to speed up the development of your applications. Contact us.
